Tom Richard is an attorney at Rioux, Donahue, Chmelecki & Peltier. Tom is a criminal defense attorney, and a parents’ attorney in child protective cases. Tom also represents both plaintiffs and defendants in protection from abuse (PFA) cases.

Tom has practiced in these areas of law in the State of Maine since 2015. Prior to joining RDCP, part of Tom’s practice included service as a defense attorney for the Cumberland County Adult Drug Treatment Court, where he gained valuable understanding into the role addiction plays in many crimes.

He earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Maine School of Law in May, 2014. Tom was a member of Moot Court, and worked part-time at another local law firm throughout his time law school. Before attending Maine Law, he earned his bachelor’s degree in political science at the University of Southern Maine.

Tom is a lifelong Mainer, growing up in Livermore. In his free time, he enjoys woodworking, the music of the Grateful Dead, and spending as much time as possible at the beach or the lake.
