Lisa Chmelecki is a founding partner of the firm. She represents people in a variety of legal proceedings, including criminal and juvenile defense, family law, probate guardianship, and child protective. She also is a rostered guardian ad litem.

In addition, Lisa is a skilled appellate attorney with many years of writing and research experience. She has argued appeals before both the Maine Superior Court and the Maine Supreme Judicial Court.

Lisa received her Juris Doctor, cum laude, in 2008 from the University of Maine School of Law. Following law school, she served as a law clerk to the Honorable Ellen A. Gorman of the Maine Supreme Judicial Court.

During law school, Lisa took every opportunity to get real-world experience. She worked as a student attorney for both the Cumberland County District Attorney’s Office and the Cumberland Legal Aid Clinic. She also was awarded the prestigious position as a Bernstein Fellow law clerk for the Maine District Court in Portland.

Lisa was born and raised in New York and moved to Maine in 1995 after graduating from the University of New Hampshire with dual bachelor’s degrees in Journalism and Spanish.
